Bridgette Ashton : Artificialia - A Few Fake Minerals & Fancy Plinths

ALMA presents : Bridgette Ashton at The Orchard - Exhibition & Workshop

Exhibition 12 June - 11 September 2023

At Heart & Soul Café, open daily 9:30am-4pm FREE

For the fourth in our series of artist-residencies at Newquay Orchard, ALMA is delighted to present a new publication of selected works from Bridgette Ashton’s Artificialia cabinet, reflecting on questions of replica & reimagining and on collectors & collections.

Workshop Details :

In this workshop you will be using hand-building techniques to make clay forms or vessels with interchangeable elements. The focus will be on forming a connection with the material rather than technical perfection.

Ceramic pieces from Bridgette's exhibition will be at hand to examine with discussions about the themes behind the work in 'Artificialia'. The workshop outcomes will later be fired and returned to participants.

Workshop 2 : NEW DATE 23 September, 10am - 2pm (including a lunch break)

All materials provided, no experience necessary. Suitable for participants age 16+
