ALMA Artspace CIC is a community arts organisation based in Newquay, Cornwall.

We believe that our community in Newquay deserves access to high quality art and cultural experiences that benefit their health and wellbeing, develop creative opportunities and generate future investment and economic growth in our town. Our aim is to provide access to inclusive, engaging and inspiring activities for everyone.

To do this, we deliver a rolling programme of workshops, exhibitions, events and pop-ups at venues around the town. We work with professional artists from all disciplines (based in Cornwall and beyond) to deliver a vibrant schedule of activities which are accessible to people of all backgrounds, ages and abilities.

Our workshop fees are subsidised thanks to funding and our exhibitions and events are always free and open to all. We believe that artists should always be paid properly for their time and expertise.

Contrary to our name, we don’t have a physical gallery or event space (yet), but we hope to open a publicly funded, dedicated cultural hub in Newquay one day! This releases us from the financial pressure of rent, and it means we are agile and open to new opportunities for collaboration, partnerships and pop-ups.

We believe that art is for everyone, and we want to share the positive benefits of art and creativity with our community, whilst encouraging people to join in, learn new things, ask questions and make new creative connections.

As a CIC, all our activities directly feed back into our programme of events, exhibitions, workshops and community projects for the people of Newquay and beyond.

Our Objectives : Quality Art, Community Cohesion, Creativity, Conversation, Ideas.
