Cyanotype workshop with James Meredew

Join ALMA Artspace at Newquay Orchard for a cyanotype workshop with Falmouth-based artist, photographer & book publisher James Meredew.

In this hands-on creative session you will learn about the history of the cyanotype process and how to make images using light sensitive chemicals. The unmistakable blue characteristics of the cyanotype are achieved by laying material such as leaves, shells and petals over the paper and exposing it to the UV rays of the sun.

Learn how to print photographic negatives using the chemicals and create a handful of your own prints.

All materials will be provided, no experience required.

£15 per person

There will also be an opportunity to see James’ exhibition in the Heart & Soul Café at the Orchard : The Last Days of a Giant - A photographic exhibition documenting the final few months of a 150 year old Radiata Pine at Trebah Garden.
