Our Mission

ALMA Artspace CIC is a community arts organisation based in Newquay, Cornwall.

We believe that everyone in our community deserves access to high quality art and cultural experiences that benefit their health and wellbeing, develop creative opportunities and generate future investment and economic growth in our town.

We invite professional artists from all disciplines, based in Cornwall and beyond, to deliver a programme of contemporary art exhibitions, creative workshops, cultural events and pop-ups, which are open to people of all backgrounds, ages and abilities.

As a CIC, all our activities directly support our vision to bring innovative, exciting and engaging art, music and visual culture to Newquay.

ALMA exists to promote quality contemporary art in all it’s wonderful forms.

We curate high quality, engaging creative events and public art projects. We work with professional artists across all disciplines from Cornwall and beyond. We believe that art is for everyone, and we want to share the things we are inspired by with our community, making contemporary art more accessible, enjoyable and approachable, especially for those who may not normally have access to it.

ALMA is a space for people to join together and interact with art in a positive way. ALMA uses art to create opportunities for learning, social interaction, mental wellbeing, diversity, experience and enjoyment.

Future Plans

Whilst working with our local community and artists based in Cornwall, we also want to invite international artists, musicians and makers to these shores. We look forward to sharing their stories and inviting them to experience this inspiring place through funded residency programmes and studio swaps.
